Building the One-Stop Shop for Fusion Energy Companies

lEARN mORE

Acquire. Partner. Modernize. Scale.

Fusion needs a manufacturing infrastructure that doesn't yet exist. We're building it — by partnering with qualified suppliers, and acquiring and modernizing critical manufacturers for massive scale.

The Fusion Supply Chain Problem

Fusion supply chain spending nearly doubled to $434 million in 2024, but the infrastructure to support the industry's growth simply doesn't exist yet. The fusion market is projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2050 — and the race is on to build the manufacturing capacity needed to capture that opportunity.

The supply chain is fragmented, with many critical manufacturers unable to scale fast enough to keep up with growing demand. As companies move from prototypes to pilot plants, they run into the same problems again and again: long lead times, limited interoperability, and suppliers unfamiliar with the realities of nuclear engineering and the unique challenges of fusion energy.

The Altrusion Solution

Bullet point
ACQUIRE

We're executing a direct acquisition strategy — identifying and buying the specialized manufacturers fusion companies depend on, then expanding their capabilities through AI, automation, and advanced manufacturing equipment. Our immediate focus targets magnetics, pulsed power components, power supplies, precision machining, optics, vacuum systems, and cryogenics.
Bullet point
PARTNER

While building the in-house manufacturing capacity, we provide Altrusion's  Supply Chain as a Service, connecting fusion companies to our qualified supplier network to meet all of fusion's needs. Led by a team that combines deep fusion insight with decades of hands-on manufacturing experience, we've built trusted relationships with highly qualified suppliers across the industry.
Bullet point
MODERNIZE

It's difficult for small manufacturers to raise the capital to scale and modernize their capabilities. Through both internal investment and a large investor base, we fund automation improvements, AI-enabled workflows, and advanced manufacturing techniques to increase output and margins, improve reliability, shorten lead times, and close major gaps across essential parts of the fusion supply chain.

Altrusion is modernizing not only manufacturing but the customer experience, through a marketplace that meets the needs of fusion developers and other innovators. Current platforms can't fulfill highly complex orders. Our AI-powered tool will allow buyers to quickly source components and receive immediate cost and schedule estimates, from pre-qualified suppliers.
Bullet point
SCALE

As production increases, Altrusion plans to build the Factories of the Future: advanced manufacturing facilities engineered from the ground up to achieve the scale required for global energy deployment. By combining greenfield builds with scaled acquisitions, we create highly automated, turnkey manufacturing environments that can be replicated across strategic locations.
Altrusion's advanced manufacturing work leverages experience, knowledge, and advanced technology

The result?  A scalable manufacturing platform that expands production capacity,
connects fusion companies to a broad and qualified supplier ecosystem, and removes
the bottlenecks limiting fusion and advanced nuclear deployment.

Who We're Working With

Greenfield Builds and Smart Acquisitions

Altrusion is developing a state-of-the-art 500,000 sq ft factory of the future in the U.S. to produce large-scale and complex components while strategically acquiring and scaling existing manufacturers. Our parallel path model combines modern advanced manufacturing capabilities, proven expertise, and scalable operations, creating a robust ecosystem of greenfield builds and advanced manufacturing and engineered product M&A,  networking highly capable smaller advanced manufacturers that bridges critical gaps in America's manufacturing capacity and technological advancement.

Altrusion acquires small advanced manufacturing companies and expands their ability to meet growing demand.

Advanced Manufacturing and Engineered Product M&A Powers Growth

We are actively acquiring small precision manufacturers. These strategically important companies often face capital constraints that limit their ability to scale, even amid strong demand. Our approach to acquisition:

Altrusion Factories of the Future FAQ

What sets your modern advanced manufacturing approach apart from traditional companies?

Overall, our strategy aligns with some of the most important and currently lucrative markets, namely:

(1) The need for global energy dominance including large baseload electricity sources like fusion and fission supporting AI and data center infrastructure.

(2) Defense requirements in an uncertain world.

(3) The drive to onshore manufacturing to the United States and other industrialized nations.

Altrusion modernizes production processes and equipment while providing new customer acquisitions and new investment to scale the business to compete on the global market. Our team has experience in the energy, defense, and advanced manufacturing industries, and we expand on this expertise alongside our growing customer base to both enable company acquisitions and large greenfield builds. While customer service is at the forefront of our approach, we equally value our incredible employees and partners. Furthermore, as a veteran owned business, we will always value our partnerships and customers in the United States and allied and partner nations.

What is your acquisition strategy for smaller manufacturing companies?

We are currently acquiring profitable small to medium-sized businesses with $1 million to $15 million in yearly revenue along with developing our large greenfield builds. Of particular interest in acquisitions are companies with an existing customer base and manufacturing capability but aren’t able or interested in scaling the business to globally compete for high value products. Additionally, for any owners looking for a lifestyle change and may want to exit, we provide stability and certainty that your company and employees are in great hands.

What investment opportunities are available for potential partners?

Currently, our acquisitions are debt funded either through traditional bank financing or venture debt funds. However, our greenfield builds require venture capital investments, and we are currently discussing options with multiple funding sources. If you are a debt fund, venture capital, or private equity, please contact us today, and we can talk through various investment options.

Why is developing advanced manufacturing and engineering capacity here in America so important now?

U.S. manufacturing has been decreasing as a share of global manufacturing output for multiple decades for various reasons. But at Altrusion, we believe the time has come to bring those capabilities back, and as a veteran owned business we believe strongly in increasing the U.S. and allied nations’ economic prosperity, energy dominance, and national security. The pandemic has illuminated our fragile supply chains and the need to develop a resilient domestic supply chain for both future prosperity and national security. Furthermore, we believe that partnering with companies and governments in allied nations will solidify the long-term success of the U.S. both economically and militarily.

What industries and applications are you focusing on for large-scale component manufacturing?

Our core customer base includes on-demand baseload energy technologies (fission and fusion), defense, and aerospace with the following focus areas: pulsed power, high power, specialty magnetics, vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, tritium handling systems, robotics, laser components, and precision engineering. Additionally, we are evaluating companies and enabling technology products such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).
